Hotpoint Aquarius not spinning?

When I programme my Hotpoint it runs through the programme until it reaches any spin cycle. From that point all I get is a clicking sound and no more progress (the dial doesn't even turn). I've taken the lid off and can see that the belt is still in place but haven't done any more investigating.

It could be the carbon brushes in your motor need replacing, have a look at this website www.apart4u.co.uk, it shows you a short video clip on how to carry out these sort of repairs.
