how can i stop this high pitch whine?

I have a panasonic viera tv, it's only 3 years old but has a high pitch whine to it. This is highly annoying and increases and decreases indescriminantly. The speakers seem ok but the whine appears to be coming from the rear of the tv. Please help!!
