Before paying out a lot of money for a commercial program try cleaning up your drives and registry first. Defragment the drives often helps. Don't forget that Vista has a slow response time anyway.

The SINGLE best thing you can do to gain more speed is to check your memory. I find the MINIMUM you need to run well is 1GB, but it runs even better if you go to 2GB (or more). Rt Click My Computer, then properties. That screen will show you how much memory you have installed.
