how much more info does one need?

The zone in question is a bedroom window and having checked it thoroughly, it is in perfect working order but will not alarm when using the system, hence it has to be omitted.

alarm guy, acorn, between us we have what, about 60 90 years in the trade,(god do i feel old)why do people ask our advice, then dismiss it,to tell the truth,am getting really pissed off with people,we should just tell any one who asks our advice to call their alarm company, let them pay through the nose,

If thoroughly checked it must be fine then.
I assume you have a test meter, some foundation in electronic diagnostics and a temperament to trace difficult and intermittent faults.

Also, you say it "will not alarm". You mean it is an open circuit perhaps? And will not allow the rest to arm.

Tell you what, you seem to know more than us, so sort it and let us know how you rectified the situation.

"having checked it thoroughly, it is in perfect working order"

1st Something is obviously wrong.
How did you check it?
Looking does not do it.

2nd What's connected to the window?
A concealed magnetic contact?
A surface magnetic contact?
Micro switch?
An Inertia detector?
An electronic Viper type detector?
Lead Foil?
A Tube & Wire Frame?

See what we mean, information, information

3rd Had any work done?

4th Get the idea?

It also helps to continue in the original thread, saves those willing to give their help trying to understand the second post and having to go off searching for the first.
