not sure what you mean by pingin,is it misfiring? a loud knocking?there is a device on the pump on these(think it is a fuel metering valve)which can cause excess fuel entering the cylinders causing very loud knocking and think you can replace without removing the pump,sorry to be so vague but rmember a friend telling me of this fault a long while back
