heater blower on my peugeot 306 1995 "M"?

my heater blower has stopped working i have live at both sides of the motor, when i put one side (return) to earth it blows,but by doing this i am by-passing the speed control swich, whitch has got all earths when i tested it. Has anyone ad this problem before and can you help me please?
