it is the rubber bushing between motor and drive. at appliance store part is called bushing or "oreo" for slang because of it's looks. about $15 dollars and one hour of cussing. turn machine on side and remove three bolts holding motor replace bushing bolt motor back on and go. overloading washer can cause bushing to fail premature

If it won't drain either and just sits there dead, check the lid switch. This is a common problem.
