I've takne the whole hood apart, inluding the switches on the top. On my hood, the lights kept blowing and in the end the switch unit has blown as well. Judging by all the carbon it got really hot! Either the individual switch will have to be taken off the cuircuit board or the whole unit will have to be replaced. Eitherway, it looks like a soldering job.

Well, well, my lights keep blowing too and now they wont switch on at all despite the fans working. I have dismantled the hood and found that one of the lamp holders may have shorted out or blown (it is all blackned inside). Since the lamp holders appear to wired in series then is one is blown then neither will work. I can not see how the lamp holders are assembled- they appear to be solidly moulded.
