potterton performa 24 boiler fault?

Im going to change the heat exchanger on my performa 24, its only a couple of screws holding it on, ive shut off the water to the boiler but there seems to be a lot of pressure when i undo the retaining screws?,does anyone know of a simple way to get the remaining water out of the boiler without draining the system?
