television turns itself on and off frequently?

I received a free Panasonic 27" stereo TV that does the same thing. I have purchased a Panasonic about 4 years ago from Sears that did the same thing. Sears replaced it rather than having it fixed so I didn't know what the real problem was. I e-mail Panasonic recently with the model number and ID from the label on the back and asked if this was a common problem and what part causes this problem but never received a reply.
