Mend Tefal 2911 Temp Switches Heater

Tefal 2911 overheating?

After a short period of use, when temp. sensor switches heater element off, it will not cut in again until unit is disconnected for a few seconds, then powered up again. Overheat cut-out too sensitive???
Unit is prob 5 years old.
