Mend Stannah 260 Model Curved

Stannah Stairlift Model 260 : Stairlift slowing then stopping, ?

Advice needed, my granfather has a Curved stannah 260. model stairlift. stairlift goes realy slow then stops, take finger of the controls then goes back to normal speed , this happens in a few placed on the stairlift track, it doe not do it all the time, Any advice would be appreciated,

hi there....being a ex stannah engineer......what you are saying does happen on the 260 model and where you say it happens in certain places on the rail means a wire is intermittently breaking in the loom going to the half speed switch in the bottom skate,,,if you want and live in the uk you can ring me and i can explain more on 07523051777.........ian......portsmouth uk
