When the central heating fires up the boiler makes a banging noise?

you dont say the type but it will be down to scale in the heat exchanger put some boiler silencer in around 18 quid from a plumbers merchant if you have a towel rail shut the valves drain down slightly pour it in and presto no more noise in the system
