Sounds like you might have another device attached (VCR, STB, DVD) via the SCART socket? If so disconnect everything except the aerial and try again. This TV is a DTT (Freeview in the UK) receiver isn't it? If it is it needs tuning. Try the menu button. If your TV doesn't have an inbuilt DTT tuner, try putting a post in the Television section. (This is for DDT receivers.)
