How can I fix my Hotpoint WM63 washing machine?

I have a wm63 and encountered a similar problem when it was brand new. The only difference was mine did it only on quick wash, every other cycle was ok. I phoned hotpoint and I know this sounds weird but they told me to ensure the discharge hose looped higher than the inlets before discharging.
Yeh, totally opposite of what you'd think but it cures the dial sticking on quick wash.

I have got the same machine it is five years old from what you have said it sound's like your programer has gone dawn well the bit that selcts the program ie to spin and heat the water to the right temp automaticly has gone.if you have not all ready done so get in touch with hotpoint and tell the what you have said in your question
