Getting access inside?

My Zanussi TDE 4234 W tumble dryer has developed an irritating squeek. I don't think it's the back bearing - probably a dry bearing on a pulley near the motor. But how do I get inside to check/lubricate? Tried from the back, but stopped when it seemed that I'd have to remove the bearing mount. Tried underneath - but no joy trying to remove base. All advice welcome.
