How to fix salt problem on a JBM JD8020W Dishwasher?

The problem is the no salt light keeps coming on even when it has been refilled, the salt adjuster is set to the lowest position but it seems to make no difference and now cutlery etc., are beginning to get rust marks on them. Has anybody had the same problem?

forget watersoftener/salt and use multitabs if it isn't working.Also you can fill the salt container with water whilst stirring it around to make a salt brine as solid salt will not allow the fill light to go off or work.rusty cutlery can also be a failing of the cutlery or use of a non dishwasher safe metal object
