Another thought - have you switched the sliding lever on the garter carriage to G?

Hi Lucille,

Here are a few points to check. Hope they help you get it working.

Is the needle in good condition? Are you casting on by hand or with the carriage? Is the cast on too tight? Do you have a card in the machine? Is your sponge bar in good condition?
