Presumably the on/off switch rather than an overheat cutout.
Can you fix it?
That will depend on your skill/confidence level - diagnosis ability and the availability of parts.
You do not say what's wrong with it.
My guess is that the switch has failed and will not turn the machine on - you should be able to source an alternative switch and wire it in - there may be mechanical issues with different dimensions between the old and the new - you may have to get creative in how you mount it.
