It sounds as though there is an object between the inner drum and the casing - the drum rotates but knocks something like a coin - is this possible and how to extract it.
The problem was a nail - about 50mm long - lodged through one of the holes in the drum and catching on the outer - only saw it once I had removed the sump drain from the back, but it could be removed from within the drum
