how do i fix my whirlpool AWG995?

My Whirlpool AWG995 washing machine drum no longer goes round although the machine still seems to go through the various program wash cycles

paul - i think the device at the end you're speaking of is a rotation/speed sensor which feeds back to the CPU. In my case the problem I had two years ago was down to a failure on the PCB. Unfortunately, another similar problem has recurred this year (this time the motor turns erratically and won't spin at all), so I've decided to give up the ghost and go for a new machine as it would be uneconomical to replace the motor.

steve - the motor is brushless - that means there are no carbon brushes to wear out... the motor speed and inner winding magnetization is controlled entirely by the CPU. In the end replacing the PCB fixed the problem.

how can you change brushes on a brushless motor ???

Mines doing the Same , Runs through the cycle, drains and you hear that , but the drum refuses to turn , the belt is taught and fited correctly , i have tried checking for burnt out connections...ect

Theres a device on the back of the motor with two yellow wires , this show connectivity on my meter, and its magnitized , what is this device, as the drive wires ,motor red white ect are thick and go into the center of the motor to the windings

Any Help ??

Did any one find a likely solution to this problem of the drum not turning?

I also have an AWG995 with the same problem. It seems that the motor is brushless! I have tested the various motor windings with a multimeter and all appears OK. Perhaps this is a capacitor or PCB fault? Any suggestions?

sounds like the carbon brushes which is the cheapest fix also remember if replacing them yourself make sure you isolate the machine first
