It has rounded of the bit inside the spool so no drive is it fixable, or can i buy a new spool, if so do you know where from I bought strimmer from Band Q but no spare spools or do i need a new strimmer ! !

Can't get spares so I purchase a Portek Power Strim 4 strimmer head off ebay and this fits and works fine. Manual line change though. Its tough I use strimmer on a golf course all day long

It is easy to change the pull cord. Undo the four screws holding the drive shaft etc......This exposes the centrifugal clutch assy. In the end of the clutch assy is an allen srew, undo this. To prevent the crankshaft from rotating insert a small screwdriver into the hole provided in the crankcase. Unscrew the centrifugal weight unit. Now you can remove the cover holding the recoil start mechanism. From here all is straight forward.

In order to do this properly there is quite a lot of work to do in stripping it down to get at the parts. I won't bother describing the obvious things. The man obstacle is removing the sleeve nut on the magneto end of the crankshaft as there is no obvious means of preventing the shaft turning to undo the nut (which is a right hand thread by the way). The answer is to remove the crankshaft cover on the opposite end of the crankshaft which is secured with four screws and then jam the connecting rod and bob weights with a screwdriver whilst undoing the nut.

Bl**dy useless, worst bit of kit I ever bought, they sell you the strimmer and then it is impossible to buy the replacement spool.
The so called compatible spools are even worse.
If you know where I can get the proper spool please let me know
