How can i fix my hayter lawnmower?

my mower loses the drive on and off whilst mowing so very hard work . i have to push it and then the grass does not go into the box

my belt that turns the blades came of, put it back on don.t sure it is right because the blade rotation control will don't move to engage what could the problem be

My Petrol Hayter lawn mower was working fine upto 4 weeks ago. I ran out of Petrol & have topped it up. Just wont start, I have even bought a new Spark Plug & it would appear there is no spark. Anyone got any ideas of what may be wrong?

my mower keeps stopping as if running out of petrol I primer the fuel and pull the cord and it starts again for a short while then when it gets hot it works really well cleaned the spark plug and can only presume its a fuel blockage or what do you think?

My hayter mower started to smoke at the rear wheels. On investigation I found a small metal block to the left side and thats where the smoke was coming from. What do you think is wrong??

Be cheaper to buy a new engine for it, if indeed the crankshaft is bent. If you've bent your crankshaft it means you've probably done it by hitting something, which would have sent shockwaves throught the engine. You've basically knacked it.

Otherwise, if its just hitting the plastic at the back, then its your axle bearings that have gone. Simple cheap job. Well it is if you have it repaired by me :)

most hayter mowers have a disc on the crankshaft which prevents the crank from being bent if the blade hits a solid object. If you bought it new, then take it to your nearest autherized Hayter dealer who can probably replace the crankshaft ( if it is bent ) free of charge if you have your original receipt, even if it is 25 yrs old.

Sorry, by rotating the engine you will see if the shaft is bent

Remove the spark plug and blade, put machine on its side and see if the crankshaft is bent. If it is it will need replacement
