how do I set radio code in peugeot 406 radio -?

you probably use the steering wheel controls - try that check the handbook

when you switch on your radio press preset button 1, a 0 will appear on display use the "search buttons" (left and right ) to change the value to that required for first digit then press preset 1 again, a 2nd 0 will appear, repeat process to enter all 4 digits then press preset 1 again to confirm. All nos from 0 to 9 can be entered using this process.
