I had the same problem with mine. You have to let the battery run out, connect it to the mains, turn it on without connecting to the computer, go to settings, then to format and click yes, to format the device. Then you connect it to the computer, and go to windows media player, go to sync and format the device again from your computer. This should solve the problem

NOOO.. they explain this on their website what you have 2 do is go onto the main menu and go down to settings(or setup) and go to online device and select USB Disk....Now connect to your computer and it will reconise it ,,,,

this doesnt answer you question but your not alone. i too have bought the aldi/tevion mp4 player, all i get is the egg timer when i turn it on, my dads turns on and plays the already installed video clips etc, but the pc does not recognise it. i think we have a faulty batch. try ringing the helpline 0161 975 0458, if you can get through
