Replacing an old kitchen monobloc mixer tap?

My old mixer tap seems to be secured to the stainless sinktop with a large nut on a 32mm (approx) tube, Will I be able to replace it with a modern mixer which is secured with a horshoe shaped plate and a small nut? I haven't seen any new mixers that are fixed to the sink with a single large nut and washer. Are such taps still available?

As long as the hole in the sink is the same size, yes. Sink holes have been pretty standard for some time so it should be OK. But the only way, unless you can get to it from underneath, is to take the old tap out..
The horseshoe flange screws up on a threaded rod over the edges of the hole. Best to fit the pipes into the new tap before you put it in but it can make fitting the flange fiddly. There may be a requirement from your Local Authority to fit isolating valves, you'll need to check. Cheers

You shouldn't have a problem unless you have a square hole in the sink as very old unit's had (unlikely)the horseshoe does the same job but in a different fashion,go for it.
