How do i fix my garden tiller?

I have an old montgomery wards tiller, dont know the year but the model number is gil 1531a, that needs new oil seals in the gear box. how do i go about removing them? i know the brass bushings need to come out first. but do i drive them out with a punch or do they have to be pressed out?
