Use a bulb to trace where you are " losing" the 12v .

Connect one side of the bulb to chassis and check you get 12v at the battery, at the starter solenoid input, at the solenoid output, at the starter motor input. Also check the ground connection from starter motor or engine, to chassis, is good. It might even be a slightly loose connection.
