How to fix a Panasonis PT-51HX42f?

While trying to check possible damage to the blue CRT gun, the wing nut on the gun was dropped by my girlfriend onto the exposed circuit board. There was the whole metal on metal effect since the television was active at the time (thought it may need manual adjustment) and the televsion hasn't operated since (ie no power). Has a circuit or fuse possibly been blown or have we fried the cicuit board completely ? I'm fairly mechanically challenged in the area of television repair.

Well, does depend on what area of the set it fell on. If it shorted out a microprocessor it could be expensive. However, although it's likely you have caused more than just a fuse or fusible link to break, probably a component or two has been damaged. Panasonic have good over current and over voltage protection in their TV's. So most likely the damage will be limited. It's true, there are 'no user servicable parts' inside a TV, it's going to need an engineer.
