The lock in my front door has moved slightly forward resulting in not being able to open the door from the outside with the key. If I take out the retaining screw and move the lock back, it works but as soon as I put the screw back the lock goes out of line and the key won't open again. The handle on the inside still works. I can't see any adjustment screws or fittings. Help!!
The door striker needs to be moved to the inside direction of the door. Most of the time its hard to get the screw in a new hole. Take toothpics and when you have the striker plate off the door jamb stab toothpics in the old holes and break each one off in the old hole till it seems tight. This will help keep the screw from running back in the same spot. Hope this helps
