clutch cable?

i have to push my clutch all the way down to the floor to change gear, im guessing it is the cable. can i tighten the cable or do i need to buy a new one? also do you know where i can tightn it or where i find the cable under the bonnet? the car is a 93 honda prelude 2.2 sohc. any help is greatly appreciated. if i have to buy a new cable do u have any estimates on prices

If it's a cable clutch & not a hydralic clutch they can be adjusted. Cable clutch can be adjusted at the clutch lever on the side of the transmission. If you follow the cable under the car you can see were it meets a lever. There you will see a metal rod,which can be screwed open are shut. You will just have to do a little adjustment at a time and check it each time.You can also adjust a little bit at the clutch pedal inside the car.But you should try to adjust most of it on the outside.Just make sure to keep checking it as you do it. You should have about 2" of play in the pedal when its close to being right.
