Nissan Almera Tino Diesel (2002) Shudders on slow accelaration?

My Tino (done about 43000 miles) initially started shuddering/jerking on the 2nd/3rd gears when you accelerate gently, however, it's behaves okay if you put your foot down. There are no warning indicator lights on. I had it serviced and had all the filters and oil replaced but the problem still exists. Occasionally the problem disappears for a while but returns later on the day.

Recently this has started happening on the 1st and 4th gears as well and yesterday there was a sudden loss of power on acceleration on all gears. It eventually speeds up and returns to normality but happens on each gear change and something doesn't sound right about the engine when you initially change gears and accelerate. Has anyone encountered this before? Is there a solution?

Loss of power and clutch judder.

Pressure plate in clutch needs torqueing correctly or renewing. Also renew the driven plate at the same time. This is a new clutch.
Slow acceleration could be EGR valve or electronic item.

my 2004 almera tino 2.2 136 diesel, displays the same problems an intermttient loss of the rev range usually under accelertion resulting in us having to stop the car and turn the engine off, as soon as the engine is switched off the fault dissappears and is ok for another week or so

My Almera Tino year 2002 2.2 diesel simply lost most of its power. It happened in maybe 3 stages over the last year but now it's just appalling as it struggles to maintain 60mph on a very gentle uphil motorway run. Going downhill is ok though. It has recently been serviced with all and local garage run diagnostics on it but nothing has shown.
No leaks or burning smell. Clutch does not quite feel the same but it's just my impression.

We have the same problem with our Nissan Almera Tino Diesel SDI, 52 reg. Had it to our Nissan Dealer 3 times, new fuel filter, replaced ball bearing in swirl valve and cleaned EGR valve and problem persists. Went to independent garage and they preplaced the MAS air flow sensor, problem still persists.

However I can reproduce the problem without fail, get the car nice and warm 15 mins does the trick and go down a steep hill doing 50 about mph, change down at the next roundabout and hey presto complete loss of acceleration. Stop for 5 mins and problem is gone completely and may not reoccur at all unless you go down another steep hill.
They fitted a ball bearing in the swirl valve, does this expand when the engine is warm, change position when going down hill and block something?????
Stop the engine it cools down and moves again, I dont' know is the tolerance on this ball bearing that small, any ideas?????

We have had the same intermittent problem for about a year and a half and had been progressively getting worse. Our car is a 52 plate Nissan Almera Diesel. We have had the car in two independent garages as I was very hesitant to go a Nissan garage and the second one finally diagnosed the fault as a faulty Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. Both garages reported that this fault does not show up when they connect a computer to the car's ECU. With the new MAF sensor, the fault has now completely disappeared and the car drives normal again.
