Replacing the battery in an EL3213 Radio Controlled Talking Watch requires a CR2032 battery. The procedure involves unscrewing the back cover, carefully removing the old battery, and inserting the new one with the positive (+) side up. A recalibration procedure is required after replacement to align the hands.
TAKE CARE TO REMOVE ANY ADHESIVE SAFETY LABEL ON THE NEW BATTERY (Ask me how I know).
Steps to Change the Battery:
Open the Case: Unscrew the back cover using a watch repair tool or by hand.
Remove Old Battery: Locate the battery spring on the right, pick it up, and remove the CR2032 battery.
Insert New Battery: Place the new CR2032 battery in, ensuring the positive (+) side is facing up.
Secure and Seal: Push the battery spring down to secure it. Ensure the waterproof seal is properly aligned with the case-back markings.
Recalibrate (Crucial):
Push the stem in to make the hands move.
Wait for the second hand to reach exactly 12 o'clock and immediately pull the stem out to stop it.
It is recommended that a trained jeweler or specialist performs this to avoid damaging the delicate, radio-controlled movement.
