How can I fix the driver door lock from just spinning round when trying to unlock it?

The best way to access the lock is to remove the door card (trim) from the inside of the door itself. Usually they are secured by a few screws and/or plastic poppers (very fragile). Anyway if you can get in there, the whole lock barrel can be got out by releasing its spring clip.
