is my timer bad?

Have a Maytag that has model A8740 Serial No 104106 on the stamped tag, it has quit, But I think it might be the timer. The motor did not make any noises and it filled up with water, started to agitate then quit, we turned the timer a couple times to differant spots and it stared one more time then quit again. I would try to start the motor but the wiring plan that was in the washer was torn up,( from the looks a mouse had a good meal before I bought the washer from a friend). The timer has the numbers 2-07373 0n it and also below the maytag name on the timer is the number 1059.
