I HAVE A HP LAPTOP AND AM WANTING TO CONNECT IT TO THE TV TO GIVE A SLIDE SHOW OF SOME PICTURES. THE TV IS A JVC 32DA8BJ.
I HAVE FOUND A NINE PIN (FEMALE) CONNECTOR ON THE SIDE OF THE TV, BUT THE LEAD FROM THE LAP TOP HAS 15 PINS. THIS USED TO WORK BY SIMPLY CONNECTING IT TO OUR OLD TV, BUT DOESNT SEEM TO DO ANYTHING WITH THE NEW TV. I HAVE BOUGHT AN ADAPTER BUT IT STILL DOESNT WORK. ANY IDEAS ?
I think you will require a S-VIDEO lead from the laptop and an adaptor S-VIDEO to SCART for the television. Connect the laptop with the S-VIDEO cable to the television via the SCART ADAPTOR to EXT-2 at the rear of the television and Enter the A.V INPUT to EXT2 you should see a B&W image displayed providing the laptop has been set for S-VIDEO output to display an external image. You will now have to change the setting of EXT2 of the television to S-VIDEO by entering and changing the EXT settings menu to view the image in colour.
