Hi there
I'm no expert but it sounds like the problem could be your washer cycle selector knob, if it's slipped round you might be running the wrong cycle - just a thought but it could explain a few things. Try prying it off and see if it can go back on the opposite way around or check the splines for wear ( the ridges inside the knob centre where it connects with the washer'sshaft)
