how to remove the standard cassette player from my fiat brava?

Theres clips down the side of the cassette player but as the gap between player and dashboard is very thin we had to get some "special" thin metal strips to push them in at the same time. We tried a metal nail file and a pallett knife first but they weren't thin enough.
