Ferroli Modena 102 DHW continuously turning off and on?

Hello all

This problem has been going on for about 12 months now and I've completely fed up of doing the hokey cokey in the shower.

I have already replaced the DHW sensor as this was the first thing suggested to me, but it turns out this hasn't helped.

The problem seems to be far worse in winter as well!?!

The other reason could be that my main board is screwed, but I'd like to try everything else before I admit it.

The manual for the Modena can be found here http://www.ferroli.co.uk/product_documentation/DOMESTIC_ARCHIVE/Modena_102_Manual.pdf

I can solder, if anyone can think of anything that may need replacing on the main board, and I think I have a voltmeter somewhere should anyone need me to take any readings.

Many thanks in advance

Removing the fan and cleaning the vanes fixed mine. Thanks Allan G & Mike B

Had the same roblem recently. It turned out that the fan blades needed sraping. A straightforward job.

a quick and easy check is to remove the fan , give the vanes a good clean with an air spray, the fan loses its efficiency when it gets dusted up.also there is a small plastic venturi inside the fan outlet, if there are any plastic pieces in the fan the venturi has broken up (easily replaced).

try the flow sensor , this sends the signal to the pcb to tell the boiler that hot water is required , it has afilter that could be dirty or blocked or it could have failed.

it sounds like the flue may be wrong as when you call for dhw the fan goes from low to high speed and if the heat is retained within the boiler this would cause your symptons when the boiler was fitted there may be a restrictor in the flue if it is removed it will solve your problem it is located at the flue bend as it leaves the boiler
