how can I repair a zipper on my jacket?

How can I repair a zipper on my jacket? It is a winter ski jacket and the part of the zipper where it connects to the bottom has torn loose which makes it difficult to put it into the slider to zip. Is this repairable or do I have to replace the entire zipper?
