dysons fixed £85 fee cr01 washing machine repair?

i have a question as i know there are bound to be some dyson engineers around here somewhere the £85 fee is this just a call out fee as my machine is beyond my repair the drum has cracked on the front and the weight is off would i have to pay extra for the parts on top of this £85?also sureley this is a weak spot on a dyson as all over my machine the plastic seems brittle even after just over 2 years usage sureley this area with a heavy weight like that bolted to it as is only thin plastic is just somthing that has been waiting to happen?

Pretty sure it's an all-in price.

After 6 years, our DC07 motor finally failed completely (Smoke, smell.)

Having looked at several online spares suppliers, I resigned myself to spending £40+ on a motor, £12+ on a post-motor filter and the shipping and an evening struggling.

Someone told me Dyson offer fixed price service, including bits, for £65, in your own home and with a year's guarantee

As I'd be spending about sixty quid anyway I figured what the hey, I'll get Dyson to do it for the extra fiver.

Put a request in online via the Dyson website on Thursday, got a call Friday morning and had the visit booked for the following Monday morning "between 8 and 1".

The guy came at 10 an din 20 mins had fitted new motor and post-motor filter.

He also fitted a new post-motor filter cover - the old one needed a good clean and I guess that was the quickest way.

He also fited a new clutch and belt assembly (Its a DC07 all floors) "cos the old one looked a bit worn"

He also fitted a new main drive belt

He's also ordered a new pre-motor filter assembly

He's also ordered a new cyclone

I've had another look at the same online supplier sites and totted up what we got. It is about £130+ worth of bits.

I reckon that's pretty good and it just wasn't worth getting my hands dirty

Did that help? - Can you post the outcome - it'd help others as well. Thanks

I think its worth ringing Dyson direct just to clarify, and make sure you tell them what is the matter.....however I have used the £50 vacuum cleaner charge and it covers everything apart from belts and filters which to be fair is ok as they are consumable items. I fix Dysons from time to time - but a vacuum cleaner motor costs £40 including delivery and it takes me at least an hour to fit so it just isn't worth it anymore.
