Easy but tailgate is HEAVY better with TWO PEOPLE with the person HOLDING the hatch/tailgate open go to one end of the strut using abroad screwdriver lever off the clip if there is one then just lever the strut off the ball joint do the same to other end of strut. Replace with new one line up the strut direction to match the other side to refit line hole up and tap on till the ball holds same the other end replace clips if they were fitted, try action of hatch does it hold open
