MY, FAIRLY NEW, HARDLY USED, 2610 KEEPS LOSSING RECEPTION EVEN UNDER PERFECT CONDITIONS. I THINK THE AERIAL MAY BE AT FAULT BUT AM UNABLE TO FIND A COMPANY TO REPAIR IT. ANY IDEAS, INCLUDING D.I.Y.
I have the same problem with my Garmin Nuvi 360. It's just a little over a year old, kept losing reception and now is completely unable to find satellites. I'm very disappointed with it.

If your car has a metallic windscreen (some do) then reception is a problem. I use an external antenna which I mount on the roof and connect to my Garmin. 200% better than standard good reception.
