CHARGE LIGHT ON VAUXHALL ASTRA VAN + no power steering?

Astra van 02 charge light on and no power steering, changed battery still the same.

The van was left standing for a couple of weeks and had simular problem, charge light on and no power steering. Just needed to re-charge battery.

astra van 04 model,my power steering is very heavy, when moved fast it is very hard to move steering

on all new vauxhalls this is not a snapped drive belt it is a the alternater,
they can be repair for around £50
or replaced at vauxhall for arround £350

Just had the same thing happen. The alternator needs changing and as for the power steering that is electrically linked to the alternator. So once alternator is replaced the power steering should work.

just had exactly same problem. you need new alternator. change the alternator drive belt at the same time.

check your drive belt's sound's like you have lost one
