washing machine will not spin, but does go through its normal cicle?

try replacing the motor brushes - graphite blocks which transfer power to the motor commutator copper segments. they are possibly worn down or burnt. they work at low speed but give probs. with the higher spin speeds. check out www.2ndwave.co.uk/manual.html for more info
