wiring diagram for White Knight tumble dryer Model No. CL 447 WV?

Hi there,

I've just replaced my heating element on my White Knight tumble dryer Model No. CL 447 WV and it still is not heating up! I reckon I've wired it up wrong.. Can you supply me with any pictures or diagrams, for me to cross refference?

Just thought I would say thanks for the wiring help which fixed my OL437 so I guess they are similar. Cheers Deano! On the bearing issue, I noticed that a couple of the rivets holding the bearing assy to the drum had become loose so I simply wrapped a bootlace around the assy between the 2 components to pack out the gap. The drum used to drag on the sides but is now very quiet & smooth.

Hi just fit new heater element and this is the run to rewire.
working from the double connecter at the top.
blue wire the one from the reset button, then next connecter down red wire. then grey then black.this is for the heater element connectors.
Wires from control block just above element are as follows,
black/white to grey
blue to blue
brown/white to brown
then green to green (earth)
It then should work fine, hope that helps.

By the way if replacing the bearing kit make sure the triangle with the 8mm hole is to the bottom when reassembling as the kit runs slightly off found this out the hard way as you do

Hi, I am trying to help a friend fix his whitenight 447W tumbledryer. We think the main switch you turn for the time you want the dryer on is faulty as if we touch 2 wires together it all starts to work. Does anyone know which wires do what? Ideally a full wiring diagram would be great.

Cheers

Hi Paul ,
Did the new element solve the problem?
I have the same issue but unsure the element has failed in the first place.

The wiring diagram showes a 2 branches siwth but picture and text refer to hilo switch like the one I bought which has 3 branches...?!?
Any clues

I had a similar problem and found the previous answers helpful but not quite as my machine.
I think there must be different 447 models - mine has the two heat settings and is the 6Kg load. Below is how I finally got it working
(No liability accepted - a qualified electrician should be consulted)
If you take the lid off ( 3 screws at the back) and looking at the machine from the front the electrics are on the left hand side at the rear of the machine.
On the far left there is a terminal fastened to the casing. This should have the earth (green) from the plug and the other earth (green & white)
To the right of this terminal is a block of 4 plastic terminals.
The leftmost of these should have the brown from the plug and the white and brown
The next terminal has the blue from the plug, the pale blue from the reset switch and the blue
The next terminal is spare
The last terminal has the black and white and the black to the thermostat

Moving to the element - there are a total of 4 terminals but two of them are joined.
Looking at the element as it is fastened to the back panel of the dryer.
The leftmost terminal has 2 connections. This should have the black to the termostat and the black to the heat setting.
The next terminal has the red to the heat setting
The terminal to the right has the two elements joined and this has the pale blue from the reset switch.

These details are provided for information only and no liability is accepted

I have just had a similar problem. I suspected the bearings had gone on mine but i think t is the mechanically driven fan at the front. When taking the back off i dropped it and all the wires came off the terminals initially it just blew cold but i think i found the fault in how i rewired it.

Please note that i accept no responsibility for any damaged caused to equipment if the information is incorrect; i am just trying to help others as i came to this site looking for exactly the same thing.

White Brown - Live
Blue - Timeclock
Pale Blue - Neutral
Pale Blue - Element (Terminal where both elements are linked)
Black White - Terminal next to Neutral
Black (within heat resist oversleeve) - to same terminal as above.
Black (within heat resist oversleeve) - element 1
Black (to hi/lo switch on front - element 1
Red (from hi/lo switch on front) - element 2

I had taken a photo and drew it out but cannot attach to this forum.

Hope this helps
