its normally due to the cartridge being perished that water continues to drip from the head even when the shower is turned off - and water also leaks from the dial housing. A replacement cartridge can be purchased from any good plumbing stockist - you just need to take a picture of the shower with youand they will pick it out from one of their catalogues - cartridge costs about £100 and a good plumber will fit it in an hour
