Mend Kenmore 70 Series Clothes Washer

KENMORE 70 SERIES WASHER DOES NOT SPIN WHEN CLOTHES ARE IN WASHER?

It drains fine, it does not spin with clothes in the washer but you can hear the motor running, I removed the clothes, put it on the spin cycle, pushed down on the button that the lid pushes down on and it spins fine. Why wont it spin with clothes in the washer?

Hello,

If the motor is running and the washer is not spinning I would check out the motor coupler which is a 3 part piece that connects the motor to the gearcase. If you tilt the washer back and look underneath you may see little black particles which is telling you the coupler is failing.
