The belts for the vacuums are VERY tight and you have to stretch them to get them on. The easiest way is put the belt over the motor first and then get the beater bar lined up and put the belt over the beater bar. Then streatch the belt with the beater bar into it location. Try not to over streatch it. Just enough to get the bar into place.
