Take the spark plug out and put a new on the wire WITHOUT installing and lay it a metal surface on the saw and pull the cord with the switch on. You should hear a snap and see a spark. DON"T BE TOUCHING THE SPARK PLUG WHEN YOU DO THIS. You will know for sure if it has spark.
